BSL — British School of Language — is India's oldest and most prestigious certified language institute. Founded in 1971, BSL offers English Speaking courses covering all four skills — Speaking, Writing, Listening & Reading — alongside Personality Development and Foreign Language certifications in 12 languages. BSL has been ranked consistently among India's top IELTS preparation providers for over five decades.
BSL is headquartered in New Delhi, with a corporate office in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. The company operates formally as BSL ED-Tech Private Limited, with a pan-India franchise network and Mentor Connect Program (MCP) partners across 54+ cities. MCP partners bring BSL's British Council certified curriculum, QR-verified certificates, and exam preparation infrastructure to learners in cities where BSL does not yet have a direct centre.
In 2022–23, India watched EdTech companies that had raised billions collapse — Byju's, Vedantu, Unacademy, WhiteHat Jr — all making thousands of teachers redundant overnight. Learners lost money. Teachers lost jobs. Confidence in EdTech collapsed. BSL was doing what it had been doing since 1971: opening classes in the morning and teaching all day.
We have never taken VC funding. An education company should be accountable to its learners, not its investors. That belief has sustained BSL for 55 years — through liberalisation, the dot-com bubble, the EdTech boom, and the EdTech crash. It will sustain it for the next 55.
