The paper has four components, with 10 queries in every part. The queries are within the same order as the info within the recording, therefore the answer to the primary question is before the solution to the second question, and so on.
The IELTS Listening test is the 1st part of the exam. It lasts close to half-hour and the test format consists of four sections and completion of forty questions.

What is PTE Test? Who should take it?
The Pearson Test of English (PTE) is a computer-based English language
proficiency test. It assesses the English language skills of non-native speakers who want to study, work, or live
abroad in English-speaking countries. One of the most widely popular versions of PTE is PTE academic. PTE academic
is for people looking to migrate abroad for work, study or to settle.
PTE Academic is designed for non-native English speakers aged 16 and above who need to prove their English skills
for academic, professional, or immigration purposes in English-speaking countries.
The test duration is approximately 2 hours. It is entirely computer-based. The scoring is automated and done by
AI. Scores range from 10 to 90. The skills assessed are- speaking, writing, reading, and listening. Following
are the modules within the test-
• The PTE Speaking and Writing test
• The PTE Listening test
• The PTE Reading test
PTE Speaking and Writing section-
The PTE Speaking and Writing section is the first part of the PTE Academic test and is conducted together lasting
approximately (54-67) minutes. It assesses your ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and
in written form. This section has eight different task types.
Here are the eight different task types of the PTE Speaking and Writing section:
1. Personal Introduction-
• The focus is on getting comfortable with the microphone and introducing yourself.
• You will have 25 seconds to prepare and 30 seconds to speak about yourself. This generally includes
questions about your studies, work, interests, or reasons for taking the PTE test.
• This task is not scored and does not contribute to your overall PTE score.
2. Read aloud (6-7 questions)-
• The focus is on your reading and speaking skills.
• You will see a short text (up to 60 words) on the screen. You will have 30-40 seconds to read it silently and prepare. Once the microphone is on, you have around 40 seconds to read the text aloud clearly and fluently.
• For this task you will be assessed on oral fluency and pronunciation. It also contributes to your reading score.
3. Repeat Sentence (10-12 questions)-
• The focus is on listening and speaking skills.
• You will hear a short sentence (3-9 seconds). After the audio finishes, you need to repeat the sentence into the microphone as accurately and fluently as possible.
• Your pronunciation, oral fluency, and content are assessed. It also contributes to your listening score.
4. Describe Image (3-4 questions)-
• The focus is on speaking skills.
• You will see an image (e.g., a graph, chart, map, or a photograph). You will have 25 seconds to study the image and prepare. Then, you have 40 seconds to describe the image in detail.
• Points to be assessed are oral fluency, pronunciation, and your ability to describe the key elements and relationships in the image.
5. Re-tell Lecture (1-2 questions)-
• The focus is on listening and speaking skills.
• You will listen to a short lecture (around 90 seconds). You can take notes while listening. After the lecture, you will have 10 seconds to prepare and 40 seconds to re-tell the lecture in your own words, summarizing the main points.
• You are assessed on oral fluency, pronunciation, and accuracy and completeness of the summary. It also contributes to your listening score.
6. Answer Short Question (5-6 questions)-
• The focus is on listening and speaking skills.
• You will hear a short question (3-9 words). You need to provide a short, direct, and relevant answer within 10 seconds.
• Assessment is done on the basis of the correctness and relevance of your answer. It also contributes to your listening score.
7. Summarize written text (1-2 questions):
• The focus is on reading and writing skills.
• You will read a short academic text (up to 300 words). You have 10 minutes to write a one-sentence summary of the main point of the text.
• Your content, form, grammar, vocabulary, and spelling are assessed. It also contributes to your reading score.
8. Essay (1 question):
• The focus is on writing skills.
• You will need to write a well-structured essay of 200-300 words on the given topic. You will have 20 minutes to plan, write, and review your essay.
• You are assessed on content, structure, length, grammar, vocabulary, spelling, and coherence.
Key things to remember for the Speaking and Writing section
• Time Management : Pace yourself well from the start. Be mindful of the time limits for each task.
• Be clear and fluent : Avoid long pauses or hesitations. Speak clearly and at a natural pace.
• Pronunciation : Make sure your pronunciation clear and understandable.
• Grammar and Vocabulary : Use correct grammar and use varied vocabulary in both speaking and writing tasks.
• Note-Taking : It is essential to develop a habit of note-taking, specifically for tasks like Re-tell Lecture.
• Structure : Take time to organize your thoughts properly for tasks like Describe Image and Re-tell Lecture, and structure your essay effectively. Make it a point to include all key elements.
• Answer Directly : Always provide brief and relevant answers when it comes to short questions.
• Single Sentence Summary : For Summarize written text task, ensure your summary is a single, grammatically correct sentence. Aim for precision and keep it concise.
• Word Count : Do not cross the word limit for Summarize written text and the essay.
